Kaspersky Labs has released details of a 12-hour battle with those who created the Bagle virus. One hour passed is a new variant of Bagle appears as a challenge.
Kaspersky says it has tracked and killed up to 12 variants of the Bagle virus during a 12-hour war last month. Virus writers have tried to "knock down" Kaspersky's security experts by constantly creating dangerous variants of the Bagle virus.
Eugene Kaspersky, the company's director and founder, said: "We update the way we destroy new variants of Bagle for hours, and our creators also produce new variants for hours. After launching a dozen new variants, they may have fallen asleep and give up. "
Kaspersky research shows that hackers are targeting small groups of dedicated users, some thousands of people, and no more aggressive hackers like global virus outbreaks. This is seen as a way to avoid the pursuit of the police and its (economic) effectiveness is not thereby reduced.
