Virus 'I Love You' Back

Virus 'I Love You' Back

Five years after the Internet was a victim of a worm, another hacker is trying to exploit this trick for computer users.

British security firm Sophos discovered the Assiral.A virus on Jan. 21 with features similar to the old version, using the subject line "Re: LOV YA!" To lure recipients open e-mail. Dangerous attachments (often titled & quot; love-letter-for-you & quot;).

The message is " Kindly read and reply to my LOVE LETTER in the attachments :-) "And the attachment contains the file LOVE_LETTER.TXT.exe

If the mail recipient opens the attachment, the virus copies itself to another computer and opens a web page at the geocities service, and drops a text file into the infected machine.

The original virus was highly spread, but Sophos experts said that Assiral.A could hardly reach the same level of risk.
