Password Recovery with Free Utilities - The End

In the last part of this series of free password recovery utilities, you'll get to know the password recovery utility for Netscape, pcAnywhere and Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise Manager.

PCAnywhere PassView

Symantec pcAnywhere may seem strange to you, but it is used extensively because of its remote control capabilities, enabling applications and controlling that computer via another computer with the ability to post enter admin.

Symantec pcAnywhere has 2 types of passwords:

- For all files: pcAnywhere allows you to secure your files with passwords (in the "Protect item" tab). If the file is secured with a password, pcAnywhere does not allow you to edit or view information about that file (depending on your choice of security option).

- In the control file and caller file: pcAnywhere stores the account information including login name and password for use when the controller. The PCAnywhere PassView utility makes it easy to recover both types of passwords.

Support for Symantec pcAnywhere from version 7.5, 8.0 to version 10.0, PCAnywhere Pass View is free. You can download here

No need to install, just execute the file 'PCAnyPass.exe' and hit the 'Get Password' button. If you have Symantec pcAnywhere installed on your computer, the utility will automatically find the folder where you installed it, and then you have to select the folder that contains the type of file you want to recover the password for. Select that file, if it is a control file, or a caller file, the utility will display both the name and the password. Or you can drag the file into the utility window.

Netscapass

Netscapass allows you to recover your password or password on websites you have saved. Supports Netscape Communicator 4.x or Netscape 6.x / 7.x. But Netscapass also has some limitations:

- In Netscape 6x / 7x: Passwords may not recover due to passwords encrypted by the password manager.

- In Netscape 6x / 7x on Windows 2000 / XP: The utility only shows the password of the user who is logged on to the machine.

- In Netscape 4x: Netscape stores user information in a file called "nsreg.dat" instead of using the Registry as it did before. If the utility does not find the password, check the "Manually select profile folder" and navigate to the directory containing your information.

The latest version is 2.03 of NirSoft, Netscapass can be downloaded for free without installation. here

Enterprise Manager PassView

Enterprise Manager is a tool that allows you to easily configure and manage SQL Server. If you connect to SQL Server through administrative login, and do not select "Always prompt for login name and password", the password and name will be stored in the Registry.

The Enterprise PassView Enterprise Manager restores the account (name and password) of all servers managed in the Enterprise Manager tool if they are stored on your machine. The utility supports the Enterprise Manager version of MS SQL Server 7.0 and MS SQL Server 2000 but also has some limitations such as:

- Only show the password of the logged in user, not the password of other users.

- Your SQL Server password will only be restored if you use the authentication function, check the login with SQL Server, and do not select "Always prompt for login name and password".

Running on standalone files does not require installation, you just need to execute 'empv.exe' and use '. Version 1.0 developed by Nirsoft, free download here
