Help for Windows XP Stable

In the normal way, most Ghosts are useful for storing images of Windows systems (or any operating system) for quick recovery after a crash. However, there are some failures that we can not do anything about. For example Ghost reported that the corrupted image could not be extracted (although you used Ghost 2003 to check the file has the. then).

The only way is to reinstall Windows XP. This can be a disaster as all the C drives are lost, you can no longer boot Windows, and even the Windows updates that you've been waiting for.

You can refer to the e-CHIP 114 for how to back up the downloaded packages when updating Windows. In this article, I just mentioned another way of keeping the update packages in a simpler way.

Before you download the patch and update (update) of Windows XP, do the following:

Connect to the Internet, go to Internet Explorer - & gt; Tools menu - & gt; Select the Windows Update item.

On the Windows Update screen, click Personalize Windows Update. & Nbsp;

Check the link to the Windows Update Catalog and click the Save Settings button.

Click the Windows Update Catalog - & gt; Click Find Updates for Microsoft Windows operating system.

Select the operating system you are using (for example, Windows XP Professional SP1) and then click Search.

Select the packages you want to update, then click Go to download basket.

Click Browse to select the folder that contains these updates (another required C drive) and click Download now to download.

& nbsp;

As such, these updates are saved in .exe files that you can back up to storage devices such as CDs, hard disks ... These copies do not update automatically that you have to turn updates Manually by running them.

Lastly, it is safer that you should combine all three solutions:

Backup the Registry by going to the Start menu - & gt; select Run - & gt; Enter regedit in the Open box - & gt; Click on the My Computer root branch - & gt; on the File menu - & gt; Select Export - & gt; select where to save, enter a name for the backup file and click the Save button.

Create the ghost file for the C: drive and the data drive you think is important (refer to the previous e-CHIP numbers for how to do it).

Save updates as described above or e-CHIP 114.

Each time Windows XP crashes, you in turn apply the following measures:

Restore Registry (double click on the .reg files you backed up). If not successful, continue to step 2.

Restore C: Ghost.exe. And if still not successful, continue to step 3.

Forced to install Windows from scratch, you manually run the downloaded Windows updates.

Note: You should not be "strange" but download the Windows Update Version 5 Preview at http://v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/v5consumer/thanks.aspx?ln=en-us&thankspage=6 , because it will check your Windows XP serial number and will not update you if your serial number is invalid.
